PANP18 - Day 1 | The Most Important Things You Need to Know for Your Pediatric Patients

Successful treatment of dermatologic conditions in the pediatric patient population presents some unique challenges, not the least of which are the different armamentaria of approved medications and the differing dosages of these drugs.

In her talk tomorrow morning, Lauren Geller, MD, will discuss the most important considerations that need to be made when treating common skin conditions in pediatric patients. She will provide the audience with a review of current biologics available for the treatment of psoriasis in children and adolescents. Additionally, she will discuss anecdotal evidence based on off-label use of ustekinumab in younger children.

We will also learn about the use of crisaborole for atopic dermatitis, a medication that has become increasingly popular for this population since it was approved a little over a year ago. She will then review data on dupilumab, the first biologic approved for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in adults, which is currently in clinical trials investigating its use in pediatric patients.

Other topics will include pearls for the treatment of alopecia areata, warts, and molluscum in children. This will be an enlightening lecture sure to clear up some of your questions about treating these diseases in younger age groups.
